James “Matt” Hightower began his financial career in Mandeville, La., in 2007. Since that time Matt has been a producer for the states of Louisiana and Mississippi. Matt’s specialties are in the areas of Life and Disability Insurance and Long Term Care. Dr. Darrell Bourg, “Incorporating Implant Placement Into Your Practice”

Course Description: Dental implants have become the gold standard of tooth replacement. This course is designed to teach attendees what they need to know in order to start placing their own implants, with an easy 10-point checklist to determine which cases are suitable for beginner implantologists and which should be referred.

Course Objectives: As a result of attending this course, participants should have a better understanding of:
•    Atraumatic extraction techniques.
•    When to place immediate.
•    Bone graft techniques for socket preservation and guided bone regeneration.

Course Type: Lecture, Credit: 8 clinical hours (Four hours available each day.) This is a 2 day course, however, attendance on the first day is not a pre-requisite for day 2.  Credit will be given for actual hours attended in the 2 day time period.

Dr. Darrell Bourg is a 2001 graduate of the LSU School of Dentistry.  He maintains general dentistry practices in both Marrero, La., and Kenner, La., with an emphasis on implant dentistry and all related implant therapy treatment.  Dr. Bourg is a 2007 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia AAID Implant MaxiCourse and a fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.  He currently is a course facilitator for live dental implant surgical courses in Louisiana and is a faculty member for Dr. Samuel Lee’s Live Surgery Mini-Residency Implant Program.

“New Dimensions in Endodontics”

Course Description: The goal of this program is to have all dentists learn how to perform endodontics in such a manner that they can offer their patients a predictable, long-term natural dentition option as an alternative to implants. A new obturation technique (Synchronized Hydraulic Condensation) will be introduced.

Course Objectives: As a result of attending this course, participants should have a better understanding of:
•    How to create straight-line access that will expedite the endodontic process.
•    Discover how endodontics can be precision-based.
•    The importance of preserving coronal radicular dentin.
•    How to “machine” or “mill” an endodontic preparation.
•    The benefits of developing “endodontic synchronicity” between a machined preparation and a master cone.
•    The multiple advantages of performing a constant .04 taper preparation.
•    Learn the new “synchronized hydraulic condensation” technique featuring the use of bioceramic technology.
•    How best to restore an endodontically treated tooth.
•    The multiple benefits of piezo electric ultrasonics.
•    How to enhance the long-term retention of the tooth.
Course Type: Lecture, Credit: 4 clinical hours

Dr. Cymerman has been in private Endodontic practice since 1983 in Stony Brook, New York. He holds a staff appointment at the University Hospital at Stony Brook and is a clinical assistant professor at the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University.  He is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. His areas of expertise include immunopathogenesis of periapical lesions, treatment of traumatic dental injuries, microsurgical root canal therapy and the use of cone beam computerized tomography in endodontics.

Both Westwinds and Luau are on the “beach side” of the resort. Westwinds is beach front. All rooms face the beach. Luau is not directly on the beach, but is very close and is set back a little from Westwinds. However, all LDA attendees staying in the Luau will have access to the private beach at the Westwinds.

- A minimum stay of 3 nights is required in Luau accommodations.

Check-in time begins at 4 p.m. Check-out time is 11 a.m. Late check-out charges: check-out after 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. - one, half-day room rate, and check-out after 4 p.m. - a full day room rate.

The resort fee includes: complimentary resort transportation; parking; two bicycles per unit for up to four hours of usage daily; fitness center usage; one hour per day of tennis court time (based on availability); one hour per day usage on either a canoe, kayak, or boogie board. (All rooms will be charged a daily resort fee in the amount of 12% of the pre-tax amount of the daily room rate. The resort fee covers items, including but not limited to, self-parking, Wi-Fi in the Baytowne and Linkside Conference Center, and reservation processing services. Complimentary Wi-Fi is offered in Westwinds. At Luau, there is a charge of $9.95 per day per computer. Resort charge is subject to taxes.)

All rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes and fees in effect at time of check-in (currently 12% for accommodations and 9.5% taxes and fees for all other services (fees for all other services is referencing the tax rate on purchases or services, such as beach chairs, drinks, t-shirts, etc.)

Reservations received after the reservation due date of Friday, July 4, 2014, for room nights in the room block will be accepted on a space-available basis at the applicable group room rate shown above.

Sandestin requires a one night's room deposit to be received within 10 days after a reservation is made, or it will be canceled. The required advance deposit for each reservation is refundable only if the reservation is canceled or arrival date is changed at least seven days prior to arrival date.
