Amalgam Separators Now Required Nationwide: the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has reinstated its final rule regarding the recycling of dental amalgam, and it requires most dental offices nationwide to install amalgam separators. The ADA worked with the EPA for several years on the final rule and considers it to be a fair and reasonable approach. The rule will be effective July 14 and compliance for most dentists will be July 14, 2020. To learn more about the rule and view resources, including FAQs and a flowchart to help you determine if you must comply with the rule, visit ADA.org/RecycleAmalgam.
