Medicaid Provider Trainings

LDH in coordination with DXC/Gainwell Technology is planning to host several web trainings for dental providers beginning November 30th regarding the Medicaid Eligibility Verification System. With the move to two DBPMs planned for 1/1/2021, this system will assist providers in verifying which plan members are enrolled in at the time of service. Many dental providers have had access to this system previously if they were originally enrolled in Fee for Service Medicaid, however, there are a number of providers that did not have access if they were only enrolled with the DBPM. Now, all dental providers participating in the Medicaid Dental program will have access.

Update: July 9 Provider Bulletin with Additional Information

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) announced in February its intent to contract with two dental administrators for Medicaid. The Department selected DentaQuest USA Insurance Company, Inc. and MCNA Insurance Company d/b/a MCNA Dental Plans. The LDA has received several calls from members questioning the requests from DentaQuest to sign up and we have asked LDH to send an official statement to providers. Until then, know that this is a legitimate request from DentaQuest to credential, and that they will have approximately half the state MCO Medicaid contract starting Jan. 1, 2021. You do not have to choose one or the other. You can be a provider with both MCNA and DentaQuest.

The LDH press release can be found at http://ldh.la.gov/index.cfm/newsroom/detail/5447.
