In an effort to get Louisiana businesses the economic support they need, Act 311 of the Louisiana 2020 Regular Session set aside $275 million from the CARES Act for a small business grant program. The Louisiana Main Street Recovery Program (www.louisianamainstreet.com/) is designed to provide financial assistance to local small businesses. As part of this, the Legislature has mandated that at least $40 million be allocated to minority, women, and veteran owned businesses in the first 60 days.
It is the LDA's understanding that if you received a PPP or EIDL that you will be able to apply for the grant but your application is deferred until after the 21st day so that priority is given to those who received no federal assistance.
Dates to remember:
July 28: The first day we will begin taking in new applications for Main Street Recovery Program Grants.
August 18: The last day for priority given to applications that received no Federal Assistance.
September 26: Goal to have awarded $40m to minority, women, or veteran-owned applicants.
