Everyone knows about Black Friday, Cyber Monday and even Small Business Saturday. However, many are unaware of Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving that falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This Giving Tuesday, consider donating to the LDA Foundation to benefit the upcoming Louisiana Mission of Mercy (LaMOM) on August 10-12, 2023, in Lafayette, LA.

In 2015 and 2016, the Louisiana Mission of Mercy (LaMOM) provided over $1 million of free dental services to over 1,500 patients. In 2018, over $588,000 in services were provided to 928 patients. The LDA Foundation needs your help to reach its goal of providing these services again in 2023.

In addition to the hundreds of volunteers that it will take to put on the event, donations in the form of cash and in-kind supplies are needed. The LDA Foundation is able to provide $5-$7 of care for every $1 donated. Cash donations will help to purchase materials not received from in-kind donations. Furthermore, the LDA Foundation provides financial assistance to Louisiana dentists who suffer property damage from devastating hurricanes and other weather-related disasters. Most recently, the LDA Foundation distributed approximately $75,000 in disaster relief grants to our dentists in Southeast Louisiana after Hurricane Ida and a one-time contribution to the Florida Dental Association Foundation after Hurricane Ian.
