There have been many changes in the C.E. environment this year. However, your LDA has remained strong and will continue to work diligently to meet the needs of our member dentists.

And if you have not already heard, there will be no 2024 New Orleans Dental Conference/LDA Annual Session because the ADA's signature convention, SmileCon, is coming to New Orleans, October 17 – 19, 2024. The last time ADA came to New Orleans was 2013, so mark your calendar now and plan to bring your entire dental team. Our own LDA Board Member Dr. Glenn Dubroc will be serving as the local arrangements chair. More info will be provided soon.

So, maybe you need in-person C.E., online C.E., accredited C.E. that meets the new DEA requirements, or maybe just C.E. that takes place at your favorite vacation spot. Whatever the case, we have a course for you!

The LDA’s Last Chance Seminar (7 clinical hours) is December 8, 2023, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Baton Rouge. Dr. Lou Graham is the speaker and his topics include “Diagnostically Driven Dentistry” and “The Challenges in Restorative Dentistry.” This is your last chance to earn C.E. with the LDA before license renewals at the end of the year. Continental breakfast, coffee, and buffet lunch included in the registration fee.

The DEA MATE Act C.E. Course (8 clinical hours) “Dental Implications of Substance Use Disorders” is January 12, 2024, with Professor Karen Baker. The course will be held via Zoom so you can take the course from your home or office, but it is LIVE and will count towards your in-person hours if you want to use the course for your LSBD requirements.

Winter C.E. with Character at Walt Disney World (10.5 clinical hours) is February 11-13, 2024, at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Speakers will be Drs. Pedro Cuartas and Jacob Dent. Please note: Our hotel block is full, but you can stay off-site and still register for the course.

Summer Education Conference (12 clinical hours, 4 non-clinical hours) is June 12-15, 2024, Hilton Pensacola Beach, FL. Speakers include Dr. Priya Tirumalasetty, Linda D'Amico, Dr. John Barksdale, and Dr. Julie Goldberg with Fortress Insurance. (Note: Fortress policyholders will earn a 10% premium credit for the next three policy periods by taking this course.) This trip is fun for the whole family! It's also a great option to reward your office staff. Don't miss the opportunity to soak up some sun and C.E.
